A Look Behind the Scenes: My Internship at Plant-for-the-Planet

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work at Plant-for-the-Planet? What really happens at the office in Tutzing – and is Die Gute Schokolade really lying around everywhere? Our long-time Climate Justice Ambassador Eva got the chance to find out during her internship and shares her experience from a week with us:

Recently, I had the opportunity to do a one-week internship at Plant-for-the-Planet in Tutzing. As a Climate Justice Ambassador, I had often been in touch with the Empowerment Team. That made it all the more exciting to finally get to know the structures behind the scenes.

I got an overview of the different teams – from Empowerment and Restoration to Communications – and was able to contribute to a variety of projects.

For example, I reorganized moderator folders for our Academies, helped produce a Reel for the Instagram account, and joined video calls with the entire team. I also researched potential speakers for the upcoming Empowerment Workshops in autumn and, together with another Ambassador, gave a talk at the environmental parliament of the Oberhaching high school.

What I particularly loved: I was never just a silent observer. My perspective as an Ambassador was taken seriously, and I could share my own ideas – for instance, how to improve communication with our network of Ambassadors.

A warm team – and fresh lunches

During the internship, I got to know many staff members in person. Everyone was incredibly open, kind, and committed. I saw how much passion and dedication goes into the work for climate justice here – and now I finally have faces to put to the names I knew only from emails.

And yes: the freshly cooked vegan lunch every day was definitely a highlight!

Oh, and, yes, there’s lots of Change Chocolate for free consumption in the office.
