Plant-for-the-Planet News January

2007 was a great success for the Plant-for-the-Planet Initiative. More than 60,000 new trees were planted or pledged, including the participation of over 250 schools. Hundreds of teenagers were able to set a good example for global action.

The last tree planting action of 2007 took place in Langenfeld, Germany. The students of the Konrad-Adenauer-Gymnasium planted 1,800 trees in a forest that was destroyed by the storm 'Kyrill' in early 2007.

Ten year old Felix Finkeiner gave a heartwarming speach that persuaded several German Toyota dealers to also partake in the initiative. More than 80 companies agreed to collaborate with local schools in preperation for the Day of the Tree in April 2008.
