Plant-for-the-Planet
On Saturday October 12th, 2013 Climate Justice Ambassadors from the Caribbean city of Playa del Carmen, organized a planting action together with the new appointed mayor, Mr. Mauricio Góngora Escalante. Inspired by their environmental activism and commitment, the mayor was the first to promise to organize a planting action every Saturday with citizens and members of the community. This campaign will be continued throughout his whole three years’ term in office.
All the schools in Solidaridad will take part in these Planting Saturdays. The campaign is named Reforesting Solidaridad – more trees, more life (“Reforestando Solidaridad – más arboles, más vida”).
