Plant-for-the-Planet Delegation at COP 31 in Türkiye

From November 9 to 20, 2026, COP 31 will take place in Antalya, Türkiye. Plant-for-the-Planet will follow the conference with an on-site delegation. Our experts are available to journalists on site or reporting remotely for interviews, expert assessments, and background information.

The Plant-for-the-Planet delegation attends COP 31 to demand a just, rights-based approach to climate action that empowers indigenous communities and youth, strictly protects forests and ecosystems, secures reliable climate finance, and accelerates the phase-out of fossil fuels through a fair transition to renewable energy.

The following experts will be present in Antalya:

Felix Finkbeiner founded Plant-for-the-Planet at the age of nine. Today, Felix leads the forest restoration, conservation, and public policy work at Plant-for-the-Planet. At COP 31, Felix will focus on ecosystem conservation, biodiversity finance, and the Tropical Forest Forever Facility (TFFF), launched at COP 30.

Fatou Jeng is a climate and gender equality specialist. As an International Relationship/Empowerment Manager at Plant-for-the-Planet, she coordinates the empowerment of Climate Justice Ambassadors. She is the founder of Clean Earth Gambia, former Youth Climate Advisor to the UN Secretary General, Forbes 30 under 30, and Lead Gender Negotiator for The Gambia to the UNFCCC. Fatou aims to highlight the perspectives of young and future generations, gender justice, and adaptation finance at COP 31.

Kathrin Henneberger is a former member of the federal parliament (Bundestag, 2021–2025) and now a public policy advisor at Plant-for-the-Planet. Her focus at COP 31 is on climate finance, Just Transition (including electrification), and the phase-out of fossil fuels. Having attended UNFCCC negotiations as part of the German delegation, she brings valuable experience in global climate diplomacy. In parliament, she advocated for a just coal phase-out in the Rhineland and Germany’s support for the Fund for responding to Loss and Damage.

Jule Schnakenberg has been Climate Justice Ambassador with Plant-for-the-Planet since age 11 and is now a public policy advisor at Plant-for-the-Planet. As part of World’s Youth for Climate Justice, she helped lead the global lobbying effort for the historic youth-driven climate ruling at the International Court of Justice in The Hague in 2025, stating the obligation of states to effectively address the climate crisis. At COP 31, she will follow forests, the developments on the Roadmap to End Deforestation, and children’s rights.
