From June 8 to 18, 2026, the June Climate Meetings, SB 64 will take place in Bonn, Germany. Plant-for-the-Planet will accompany the conference with a delegation on site and is available to journalists for interviews, expert assessments, and background information.
Our key demands for the mid-year conference SB 64 in preparation for COP 31 in TĂĽrkiye:Â
- Forests are among the natural carbon sinks that we urgently need to reduce the elevated levels of CO₂ in the atmosphere that cause the climate crisis. We need to protect the standing forests and prevent both deforestation and degradation. Therefore, we will be closely following activities around the “Forest & Climate Roadmap” as led by the COP30 Brazilian Presidency in Bonn and London Climate Action Week.
- Children’s rights form a primary consideration across all negotiation streams, with a special focus on the Just Transition, the Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) Action Plan, adaptation, and financing work. Youth must be involved in decision-making.
- Just Transition with a clear roadmap for a phase-out of fossil fuels is a global priority for securing a peaceful and resilient future for all. The urgently needed financing to build a climate-just world must be delivered for renewable energy, a green economy, climate adaptation, and recovery from the impacts of the climate crisis (Loss and Damage).

The event highlights the role of young people as key actors in advancing climate justice and inclusive climate action.
