Plant-for-the-Planet academies in Haiti

Plant-for-the-Planet Academy in Plaisence (Haiti)

The academy took place on the 15th of November in Plaisence. The day started early in the morning at 7 a.m. 75 children from 5 schools attended the academy together with some parents and teachers.

The day started with a small mediation. After the mediation the children heard about Plant-for-the-Planet, Felix Finkbeiner and the project. Now it was time for a breakfast. Strengthen the children were on their way to plant over 750 seedlings in different gardens. The children had a lot of fun and enjoyed the planting.

Back in the St. Montfort school lunch was waiting for the children. After the tasty meal the children discussed about the pollution of the environment, the pollution of the air and the needfulness of the trees. The children asked many question and said their opinion.

After a short break it was time for the last action. The children were divided into school groups and worked together to think about future projects and the next planned academy.

Plant-for-the-Planet Academy in Letiro (Haiti)

The second academy in Haiti took place in Letiro, in a part of Bas-Limbé on the 21th of November. 79 children from 6 different schools attended the academy.

The process was nearly the same like in Plaisence. The day started at 7 a.m. with an introduction about Plant-for-the-Planet and Felix Finkbeiner. The children received much information about forestation and the needfulness of trees for our climate.

After breakfast at 8 a.m. the children got ready for the planting. The children planted eagerly and fast over 750 seedlings in only 1 ½ hours. Back in school lunch was ready. The children enjoyed the meal and they were curious what will happen next.  With intentness the children listened to the topics about environment, climate and the future. The children asked many interesting questions.

After a short break it was time for the last action. The children were divided into school groups and worked together to think about future projects.
