Plant-for-the-Planet
The last 4 weeks have been focused on the election of the new Plant-for-the-Planet Global Boards. Children and young people from all over the world voted online and were voting for their candidates for the Children’s Global Board and the Youth Global Board until 15th May. A total of 14 children and 14 youth from eight world regions now form the new global boards. The eight regions of the world are: China, Europe, India, Latin America and the Caribbean, North America and Oceania, sub-Saharan Africa, West Asia and North Africa, and Central and East Asia.
The members of the Plant-for-the-Planet Children´s Board 2014/15:
Dev (10) from India, Dong (11) from China, Franziska (12) from Germany, Gballe Estell (11) from Ivory Coast, Giovanni (14) from Italy, Guru Vishnu (12) from India, Harshla (14) from Fiji, Hima Ann (10) from United Arabic Emitares, Kausalya (12) from Malaysia, Kehkashan (13) from United Arabic Emitares, Kitty (14) from China, Lénárd (10) from Canada, Linda Michell (13) from Mexico, Wren (13) from USA.
The members of the Plant-for-the-Planet Youth Global Board 2014/15:
Aman (17) from India, Denrick Nesbert (20) from South Africa, Gauri (15) from United Arab Emirates, Jorge Cesar (21) from Mexico, Kailash (17) from USA, Li (15) from China, Limbert Gabriel (16) from Mexico, Luis (17) from Mexico, Mohammed Rabiu (19) from Ghana, Rebecca (20) from Germany, Shiela Marie (17) from Philippines, Simran (15) from United Arab Emitares, Sudeep (18) from Nepal, Yugratna (18) from India.
In a second vote, which was open until 24th May, the voters were able to choose their candidates for the Global Presidents. The results of the election were then announced during the evening at Plant-for-the-Planet’s annual meeting in Possenhofen, Germany, and the result was celebrated at the election-party. We are pleased to be able to introduce the new global presidents:
Giovanni (14) from Italy is the new Global President of the Children´s Board, Gballe Estell (11) from Ivory Coast is Vice Global President.
Rebecca (20) from is the new Global President of the Youth Board, Aman (17) from India is Vice Global President.
The new global board members will take place on 1 July 2014 and before then be inducted by the incumbent global boards.
These are the European members of the Plant-for-the-Planet Global Boards: Giovanni from Italy, Rebecca from Germany and Franzsika from Germany.
