A Photo Session with the President

On January 20th 2017, 12 Climate Justice Ambassadors  gave an inspiring presentation at the "National Tree Planting Launch for the 2016/2017 Tree Planting Season in Zambia". Mika, Jess and Tukiya gave a speech.

Among their audience was the President of Zambia, Edgar Chagwa Lungu. They not only explained why planting trees is necessary to save our futures, they also took a photo for the campaign “Stop Talking. Start Planting.” Four well-known grown-ups show with their photo that they support the children in their fight against climate change:

  • Trevor Kaunda, PS, Ministry of Lands Natural Resources and Environmental Protection
  • Jean Kapata, Minister of Lands Natural Resources and Environmental Protection
  • Japhen Mwakalombe, Minister of Lusaka province
  • Dennis Wanchinga, Minister of General Education

What a success for the children Daichi, Alexia, Jyua, Charlotte, Jess, Miku, Nagisa, Alinafe, Minato, Naoko and Tukiya! Miku and her mother Chiori had given an academy for just three kids some days before, just to give them the possibility to take part at the event.

After the children’s speech, the president of Zambia gave a speech. He kindly repeated this "Stop talking, Start planting" words a couple of times in his speech. And he allowed the Climate Justice Ambassadors to take "Stop Talking, Start Planting" photos at the end of this event. The next day, the photo was hit the front page of Zambia Daily Mail Newspaper. Also the photo was posted at the Facebook page of The president of Zambia.
