Nearly a hundred new Ambassadors in Nigeria!

The Academy commenced at exactly, 9am. With many participating students from different schools. In addition, many teachers, invited guests and other people attended.

Mr. Adeleke, member of the Team Plant-for-the-Planet, who anchored the program, introduced the invited ambassadors, the program coordinator and his team, the teachers, principal of the host school and the invited schools. The program coordinator, Prince Olawuyi gave his opening remark in which he urged all the participants to be attentive and ensure that they comport themselves very well. The invited ambassadors are: Seyi Osho, Praise, Darasimi Akinrinola and Victoria. The two of them- Darasimi and Victoria handled the presentations with a theme:  Now We Children Save the World. The lectures touched the following areas:  causes of the climate crisis, effects, solutions, greenhouse Gases, co2, climate justice, renewable energies and more about the Climate Justice Ambassadors and Plant-for-the-Planet’s activities, etc. . The program coordinator contributed to the presentation to explain some technical termsand buttress some points raised by the two presenters

The participating students engaged in the World Game in which issues related to countries and how they did emit CO2 were demonstrated.  The participants were later divided into four different groups for the World Café in which each group did deliberate on different major topical issues such as: How they can involve media in promoting the project in Nigeria, how they can organize a tree planting party in their communities and schools and deliberation on how they can involve their parents and friends in the project best. The groups were happy to read out the outcomes of their deliberations in which they all agreed to join the Plant-for-the-Planet Club, Ibadan, launch clubs in their respective schools, engage media houses and open a facebook page.

The participants were happy to share what they have gained during the academies. More so, two of the ambassadors shared their experiences at the German Embassy to educate others who are also preparing to attend the 'Global Youth Summit ' in Germany in the future. Few seedlings were planted during the tree planting demonstration 

The participating teachers also shared their experiences. Certificates were later given to the participants. In his closing remarks, the program coordinator – Prince Olawuyi Seyi urged all to be active Climate Justice Ambassador in their various schools and communities.  He thanked the invited schools and the host school.  The principal of the host school thanked Plant-for-the-Planet and promised to ensure his students are practicing on what they have learnt.
