Ever wondered which country has the most trees?
Think you might be better at estimating how many trees a country has than your friends?
Then maybe you’ll enjoy TreeGame.
We in the Plant-for-the-Planet software developer team normally spend our days building tools for restoration projects to collect donations, monitor forest restoration and make the Trillion Tree Movement more transparent.
That’s complicated stuff with many hard problems to solve.
So for some light-hearted ‘after hours’ coding, we decided to build TreeGame.
It was lots of fun to build and we hope that it gives people a better understanding of how forest ecosystems are distributed around the world. And of course we hope it encourages some more people to donate to plant trees!
We were able to build it thanks to the great dataset by Crowther et al.
We hope you enjoy this as much as we do!
