As of February 2015 our Spanish branch "Fundación Plant-for-the-Planet" is running its operations from Barcelona's city center. Plant-for-the-Planet is expanding internationally. The children and youth initiative is already well known in German speaking countries while gaining more and more attention in the rest of the world. This is why on February 11th, 2015 a new office was opened in Barcelona. The office will serve as administrative center for all our activities in Spain as well as for supporting the startup strategy in other Spanish speaking countries.
Furthermore, the maintenance and updating of our Spanish Facebook Page as well as of our brand-new Spanish website will be in charge of the Barcelona office.
Spanish is the official or national language of 19 countries in the Americas. It is also is one of the six official languages of the United Nations, and it is used as an official language by the European Union, the Organization of American States, and the Union of South American Nations, among many other international organizations. Approximately 470 million people speak Spanish as a native language, making it second only to Mandarin in terms of its number of native speakers worldwide.
We are therefore very happy about this huge step to help spreading the message of Plant-for-the-Planet in Spain, Latin America and beyond!
