Our colleagues in Mexico are on a record-breaking hunt this week: On Tuesday (12.10.), the teams planted a total of over 32,000 seedlings in just one day on the two sites we are currently restoring on the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico. The photo shows one of our field teams representing the entire restoration team on the area “Las Américas 7”, where a record 26,130 seedlings were planted on October 12 – another site that we are planting in parallel is located in Bacalar. There, it was another 6,038 trees.
The team in Mexico has faced repeated challenges in recent weeks, such as very dry weather periods and the restrictions imposed by the Corona pandemic. But it is once again proven: Teamwork makes the dream work!
And so on Wednesday (13.10.) and on Thursday (14.10.) once again more than 30,000 seedlings were planted in just one day.
