First Academy in the Dominican Republic

The first Academy in the Dominican Republic was organized by the Foundation Santa Lola in San Pedro de Macorís on 6th February 2012.

45 children aged 8 to 15 became Climate Justice Ambassadors in the school Escuela Los Cajuiles. Each participant planted a “vivero personal”, a seemling put into a plastic bottle to cultivate the plant until it is possible to plant them on the ground.

More academies are in planning, organized by Fundación Santa Lola that cooperates already since 2009 with Plant-for-the-Planet and has planted more than 3.000 trees with 200 volunteering children and youth.
